LD: Learning Disabilities

Our service for children and young people with learning disabilities offers a specialised approach, based on the individual needs of each child entering the home, school or family.

With the use of a ‘Total Communication’ approach, Sensory Integration and Life Skills, we support every child’s journey to adulthood with a person centred approach.

We aim to create specialist settings for children with learning disabilities and complex needs, which provides opportunities to thrive within a supportive and creative environment.

Our interdisciplinary approach centers children, creating a fun and nurturing experience within our homes and school.

Our homes and schools aim to:

• Provide an integrated model of support for children with learning disabilities and complex needs, focusing on developing their skills for employment, independent living, community cohesion and health.
• Provide stable homes for children, working toward the day the child leaves up to five years in advance.
• Expand our offerings to include young adults from nineteen years through vocational learning.
• Utilise our clinical and therapy teams multidisciplinary assessment of needs and implementation of support approaches individualised to each child.
