Semi-Independence Options

In addition to the family rooms in our centres, we have self-contained semi-independent apartments, situated on onsite. The apartments contain a kitchenette/dining area, lounge area and separate bedrooms space for families.

Each apartment has CCTV at the entrance only and not throughout the apartments, therefore the semi-independent apartments are suitable for families who have fewer complex needs and are risk assessed as not requiring full CCTV monitoring. Families occupying the apartments will have support and development plans, therapeutic support, an allocated key worker and assessing social worker. They will also be able to access the inhouse activity programme for families. Though families in the apartments will be in a self-contained environment, staff will encourage all families to utilise communal areas.

The semi-independent accommodation can be utilised as a valuable training environment, it is also an ideal environment for families who may have received a successful parenting capacity assessment and require progressive transition to living independently or require additional support with their parenting skills before they move into their own accommodation. This may also be an appropriate environment where shorter periods of assessment are completed on behalf of local authorities.
